In Depression, the CEN positive task network is ineffectively activated. This means low motivation!
The DMN is dominant and focused on self-deprecation. And there is impaired switching from SN.
In ADHD, when we engage the CEN task-positive network, the DMN doesn't turn off, remaining active in the background! The SN also makes us too easily distracted. Squirrel!
In the dissociative subtype of PTSD, the CEN and DMN inefficiently engage and disengage, and are somewhat hyperconnected leading to dissociation. The SN may inappropriately assign relevance to external or internal stimuli.
